remote weak signal to unlock

hi does anyone have the same problem with there remote.
I need to be really close to the van to unlock or lock the battery is not that old if I go to the back of the van I have to point it to the drivers side forward ??????is there anyway of making it stronger????I have slam locks fitted and is really anoiying when I have key in the lock and wont open the deadlocks
