Improving the ride, changing springs?

I have a 2700 gross weigh van, im not going to use it for heavy work so im looking to lighten up the suspention springs a touch to imporve the ride.
Anybody done this? I supose i could fit the springs from a lighter van, but im not sure how much that will help.
Any ideas?
