Central locking activation/deactivation whilst driving

Hi all
I have used the search feature on this issue but with 6 pages of queries its a bit confusing not to mention time consuming, so as the title states my central locking has a mind of its own whilst I'm driving i.e. activating/deactivating does anyone have the same issue or a cure because driving me mad!:mad::mad:

Hi fellow members , i have just spotted on the tv listings that the BBC Watchdog consumer programme is doing a big number on the problems with injector ceasing and bad wiring in the Vivaro / traffic / primastar vans next week . This is a must watch programme for all owners of these vans .
The programme is on next Thursday 13th November on BBC 1 at 8.00 pm......Enjoy

First of all I'd like to say hi to you all I'm in the process of buying a 2003 movano 2.4 cc 3.500kg high top medium panel van a 3 seater service history plus 170.odd thousand on the clock it's a diesel as well my question is this are these vans reliable and what sort of mpg can I expect as I only want it to tow my caravan etc? Andy..

I've got the dreaded injector problem Vivaro 2008 2.0, 75000 miles had the codes read today by Vauxhall injector down and problems with injector wiring.
So shocked at the potential bill which could be anything from £1700 but could double due to labour charges and if they can get them all out, as they change all 4.
That's on top of their diagnosis of "scuttle panel damage" that has been allowing water onto the head which they are blaming on the injectors on "scuttle damage ". Which I fixed...

vivaro cutting out

ive got yet another problem with my van. went to drive to london the other day and the van cut out with the stop light and the red flashing stop engine. i carried on and drove all the way to london this is from hertfordshire with no problems. Got to central london and she cut out 3 times in about 15 minutes so got to my job and googled the handbookkk which said this symbol relates to the temperature. So i checked the header tank which was just below min and filled it up. Left my job...

Movano 2.2 engine change

Hi Guys, recentley bought a 04 (old shape) Movano. Its a clean and tidy van, well body wise anyway!!!!

Its still in daily use with no adverse effects, but its got the dreaded "CHUFFING INJECTOR", the engine is on 170k so was thinking of swaping the engine out rather then spending the money on pulling the injectors and re-seating them.

As the 2.2dci engines are in short supply (and bloody expensive) I was wondering if I could drop a 2.5 engine in or would i need to change the gearbox...

So as you know I have had injectors 1,3,4 pulled each cost
£75 per pull and if snapped another £75

I went to a place on carlton industrial estate
Carlton
Barnsley

Long story short HE WILL SAY THEY SNAP EVEN IF THEY DONT

me and a friend tried to get it out ourselfz and we made chisel marks all round the injector

When we came back an hour later he showed the injector he "pulled and snapped" yes it wasn't ours

Anyway I still have number 2 to do can anyone tell me a place that can...

Vivaro 2 litre lost 2nd 4th and 6th gears

In my 2008 vivaro I can only select 1 ,3 and fifth gears, the gearstick won't move into the position to select . It had a new linkage about a year ago , going to take it to garage tomorrow if I can't sort it. Any ideas?

Hey guys

I've just got myself a 60reg Renault trafic 115dci. It's a lovely ex aa van, drives like a dream. The speed limiter is a bugger but I'll get that removed once it annoys me enough to pay Renault £100 to do it. The one issue I do have is the crap radio display that has been put in, it is awful! Definitely from another vehicle and has been fitted into a pained bit of hardboard! Being so annoyed with it I decided to buy the satnav screen off eBay, not thinking about it not being a...

(2002) 1.9 dci - crankshaft sensor plug caput !!

Hi Chaps

Desperate for some advice here.
The plug from the wiring harness that goes into the cranshaft sensor is broken, at least the outer casing is in two halves. Twas me right enough, was trying to get the plug out of the crankshaft sensor and it was extremely tight.
One slip with a screwdriver and it was in two halves.

I can see it is part of the wiring harness (loom). I've spoken to the Nissan dealer, and they say I would have to buy the complete wiring harness, £620.00 + vat. Ok, I...

vivaro p1125 fault

hi all
i have a vivaro 05 1.9
looking around on the forum for fault codes p1125.
mine been coming up regular, and the opcom says

p1125 boost pressure solenoid valve excessive flow detected.

now i bought a new
boost pressure sensor
pressure converter

from a motor factors but the problem still showing. is this because they not genuine parts or is it possibly the blue multi plug which some threads seem to say its causes a lot of these problems. i have looked at the pipes and can't see...

Just completed the gearbox bearing overhaul and clutch renewal on my 08 2.5 cdti...... Due to the van having a previous accident damaged front (repaired before i bought it) i thought i would straighten out a few dinks etc....
BUT...... to my suprise whilst stripping found all coolant hoses rubbing several bits and the radiator tie wrapped on.
I could just do with a kind person taking a pic (or a few) of thier coolant system because i believe the hoses to be wrong as i cant mount the...

Taking the van to France ~ headlight beam and speed limits??

We're heading to France for a couple of weeks with the mountain bikes. First time taking the van and just looking for simple advice.
My old Octavia had a screw which flattened the beam pattern to flat. Doing a search the vivaro does not seem to have this and requires the stick on beam deflectors, is this correct? Any recommendations for any particular deflectors?
Speed limits? I can't find any info relating to vans, so I'm assuming the same as cars?

Hey fellas,

I have a 53 plate Vivaro Di, its just had Spax lowering springs fitted to it and I am happy enough with the result but I'd like to go lower.

Is there any coil-overs or lower than 35mm suspension kits available?

Vivaro engine vibration at around 1800rpm

My 2005 1.9CDTi has a really bad resonance vibration around 1800rpm. Anyone have any ideas on how to cure it? My first thought would be new engine mounts....?

Hi lads,

I keep on finding water on the recess (step bit) inside the side door i think the black rubber seal must be knackered.

So Does anyone know where to price and get the rubber seal from the side door off a 54 reg vivaro.

Intermittent starting ...now have fault codes

hi all

Today my 2004 1.9 has developed a shake/vibration on startup..

It's not mechanic (engine as such) more like when the key is turned and it cranks it shakes the van for a second or so quite violently.

I've just reconditioned the head and all the usual and its ran fine for over a week now. There's been on change in performance since this happened

I checked the top engine mount but all was tight

Any ideas? Starter maybe?

MOT Failed :(

Hi all

My vivaro failed its MOT on Tuesday on:

Offside front suspension - lower ball joint they say
Rear brake efficiency -handbrake cable on one side, and he says it needs disks, pads and callipers

After having a quote off them I decided to leave it and have a go myself.

I understand the ball joint isn't too bad and have checked and the one on it is bolted not riveted so I'm not too worried about that.

The rear disks have the bearing in one unit so I'll need some sort of puller and a...

Hi all :unsure:

Vivaro 1.9 2003
  • Long standing (several months) intermittent fault - no revs for 5-10 seconds when started from cold.
  • Today - no/poor revs whilst driving - remains drivable, but I wouldn't want to tackle a steep hill.
  • Lump at 2500 revs when revving from idle to 3000 revs - just the first time you try to rev it - smooth rev progression after that.

Intermittent van locking and unlocking

somtimes when driving my van it unlocks itself then re locks straight away ,bloody annoying as there appears to be no set pattern .does anybody have a idea what the issue is. Thanks in advance
